The Board of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Members Undergraduate education Postgraduate education <<University's organisation	The Board of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, which was established in 1997, is responsible for undergraduate and postgraduate education, research, and co-operation with the surrounding world, within its sphere of activity. The role and tasks of the Faculty Board The Faculty Board is to function as a body that provides the President, the University's Governing Board, and the Departments with strategy, analysis and evaluations concerning issues such as the orientation and quality of undergraduate and postgraduate education, research, and co-operation with the surrounding world. The Board is also responsible for internationalisation issues. The Board's task is to plan, prepare for decisions, and evaluate. The Board is to draw up proposals for educational assignments, study programmes, quality control assignments, strategic plans and budgetary data for education and research. The Board takes decisions in accordance with the Higher Education Ordinance and the University's order of Delegation. Faculty Board decisions are also taken by the Dean or Assistant Dean through delegation by the President or the Board. The Faculty Board's Sphere of responsibility: Undergraduate education The study programmes in business administration and economics, the social sciences, and education, and the study programmes offered by the School of Music in Piteå and the Theatre Academy of Luleå, as well as the single-subject courses within the Board's sphere of activity. Research/Postgraduate education The sphere of responsibility for research, postgraduate education and artistic development work comprises teaching and learning, languages, organ music, composition, music education, sound engineering and media education, ADP, financial control, industrial marketing, economics, jurisprudence and political science. The Board of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences is also responsible for artistic development work.
