Modern vehicles generate large volumes of digital data while in operation. This data is a valuable asset for the vehicle manufacturers, for diagnostics, testing and verification, and as input to simulation models when designing the next generation products. Furthermore, modern data network technology makes it possible to send measurement data in real time from a vehicle over a wireless network, for direct on-line analysis.
This project is dedicated to real-time analysis and visualization of measurement data streams, originating from vehicles. Previous efforts in CASTT has demonstrated how measurement data can be accessed from vehicles and transported over a combination of wireless and wired networks to an engineering site for analysis. Building further on these results, this project will investigate how large data streams produced in vehicles can be searched and processed directly in the streams flowing from the embedded monitoring systems (via WLAN or other wireless access technologies) to remote computers at the engineering site.
Partners of the project are Volvo Car Corporation, Alkit Communications AB and Uppsala University.
