New classification of winter tyres
The new EU tyre labeling which took effect on 1 november 2012 is intended to inform consumers about tyre safety and environmental impact. The only problem is that the label mislead the purchaser as to how the tyre performs in the winter. A while ago, Luleå University of Technology was commissioned by the Swedish Transport Administration to develop a new classification of winter tyres, which will help the Nordic consumers to make a better choice.
