PARSE.Insight

Permanent Access to the Records of Science in Europe

PARSE.Insight is a two-year project co-funded by the European Union under the Seventh Framework Programme.

It is concerned with the preservation of digital information in science, from primary data through analysis to the final publications resulting from the research. The problem is how to safeguard this valuable digital material over time, to ensure that it is accessible, usable and understandable in future.

Permanent Access to Raw Scientific Data

2009-06 The PARSE project has published a brief introduction to the project in D-Lib Magazine.

Researchers are invited to answer a questionnaire study wich takes about 20 minutes to fill in. Links to this on the PARSE webbsite.

2009-09 An interim insight report with the title "First insights into digital preservation of research output in Europe" is published on the website (link below).

2009-12 A new report has been published. The report is based on the results of three major surveys that were held among three important stakeholder groups of research communities: researchers, publishers and data managers.

2010-06 Project ends. Results can be found on the project website, link below.
