Exstensive research and gender equality activities are today carried out in the two case studies, Sandvik Coromant and LTU). In Sandvik Coromant’s organization a major work to achieve a structual change in the overall organization is pursued. Today all managers and staff (in total about 500 persons) have participated in a compulsory education in gender equality and gender competence. These activities have for example influenced the national and international advertizing when recruiting new staff. The gender equality group at Sandvik Coromant is today also benchmarking with global american companies with well reputed gender diversity work.
Another major activity is the work in the LTU case study group where a Gender Awareness and Action Level (GAAL) model is being developed. A model that will measure quantitative evidence based changes in the gender meinstreaming process as well as more subtle and complex qualitative changes.
In May 2011 a workshop was organized in relation to the Faste Laboratory’s partner meeting in Luleå. The focus was on Innovation and innovation systems combined with a gender perspective. Researchers from CiiR ( Håkan Ylinenpää and Mats Westerström, Center for Interorganizational Innovation Research, at LTU) and the gender researcher Malin Lindberg specialized on gender and innovation policies were contributing with lectures and discussions.
