New method for simulating wear from gravel flows

Industrial PhD student Dan Forsström SSAB, works at Solid Mechanics LTU with a project aimed at developing an analysis tool that takes into account the actual material flows of granular materials linked to a wear calculation.

The project is based on a feasibility study of using FEM and SPH analysis for wear simulations performed in the Center for high performance steel (CHS) at Luleå University of Technology.
