Signal Processing
Signal Processing Group at LTU
Luleå University of Technology established Sweden's first professor's
chair in Signal Processing in 1988. The present research group
includes three senior researchers and several Ph.D. students. The
research theme within the group is the development of signal processing
algorithms based on stochastic models. We work in close research
association with the department's computer networking and automatic
control groups on a number of boundary crossing research projects.
In recent years the division has been focusing on:
* parameter estimation
* digital receivers with low complexity
* multiresolution communications
* multimedia (video/audio) coding and processing
* adaptive algorithms for digital communications
* blind signal processing (equalization/identification)
In addition to the graduate research program, the Signal Processing
group participates in the Master of Science program at the department
of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. The undergraduate
courses cover the two broad areas of signal processing and
communication theory.
