Course Aim

After the course the student will be able to

  • use methods for working on projects
  • develop a software requirements specification
  • describe/explain important findings about group processes.
  • explain important concepts within Knowledge Management and rthe use in project work

Contents
-Plan, manage and carry through an IT-project -Group processes -Knowledge Management, concepts and relations, and use in project work. The result of the work is presented in a software requirements specification.

Realization
The student works on a project, thus practising cooperation, collaboration, communication and documentation. The project and the requirements specification will be presented to the customer. A logg-book/blogg will be written where the student reflects about the development of the group and his/her personal development. The learning Management System Fronter is used for course delivering course material, information and submissions. Knowledge is shared and created within the course through virtual meetings with teachers and other students for discussions, supervision, teamwork and seminars. For student on campus there will be meetings on campus.

Examination

Writing and presenting a requirements specification 5 hp

Summarized logbook/blogg and reflections on knowledge management 2,5 hp

Students who have failed an examination on five occasions will not be allowed further resits.


Remarks
Technical Requirements: Access to a PC with Windows XP, microphone, Web cam (optional) and permission to install software. Internet connection (minimum 1Mb/sek). For more information contact the course coordinator. Students must register to the courses themselves or contact the IES educational administration not later than 5 days after the quarter commences. Failure to do so can result in the place being lost. This also applies to the students with a place guarantee.

Transition terms
This course cannot be combined with IED407 in any degree.
