E0009E - Vehicle systems 2

The course “Vehicle Systems 2” addresses the electronics systems of the modern vehicles. The student learns about basic electronics used in a car to develop an appreciation of how sensors work.

The course also introduces micro-controller in embedded systems, and therefore we learn to program in assembly and C. The learning platform we use is an Atmel AVR Butterfly. With it, we learn to read from and write to ports, read from analog digital converters, set up timers and react to interrupts or drive with pulse width modulation. Communication is an important part of the system; we work with serial communication but only discuss CAN communication.
