Course Aim
Main aims of the course: 1)to be able to use the most common tools for treatment of spatial data with special emphasis on geological data 2)to be able to use the most common tools for 3-dimensional geological and geophysical information with special emphais on mining geology 3)to be able to process geophysical data
Contents
The basics in i ArcGIS (GIS), possibly other GIS-programmes The basics in Microstation (CAD), possibly other CAD-programmes The basics in Geosoft (Geophysical processing), possibly other geophysical interpretation software The basics of digital cartography The basics of digital mine mapping Excursions to mining and exploration companies and the geological survey of Sweden with emphasis on the use of GIS, CAD, geophysical interpretation software and digital cartography Each student presents a written report on selected case study.
Realization
Teaching in the form of lectures, practicals and excursions.
Examination
Attending laborations compulsory, passed written report, participation in excursion.
