Congratulations! You've made the right choice in deciding to study at Luleå University of Technology, LTU. A good education always pays off. Studying now, during an economic downturn, is a wise move. Then, when the economy picks up and the labour market improves, you’ll be well equipped.

At the same time, I am sure that you have many questions about the coming study period. Is this really for me? Will I manage? You’re sure to manage, even if it feels tough and challenging sometimes. If you invest a reasonable amount of time in your studies, everything will work out just fine. There are many who can assure you of that, me included.

You will have the opportunity to test your new knowledge by solving real problems at LTU, thanks to our close collaboration with the business community and society in general. Our talented, competent teachers will guide and inspire you, and you will also have the chance to work with students in other study programmes, something that is very enriching. When the day comes to choose your future job, our careers centre will give you plenty of support, regardless of whether you plan to start your own business or seek employment.

Our students often remark on how easy it is to socialize and meet new friends at Luleå University of Technology. The student life is wonderful and there are activities to suit all tastes and interests. We believe this is because many of those who have moved far away from their families and friends are more open to meeting new friends. Since most students live on or near campus, it’s easy to meet, even in the evenings and on weekends. We have plenty of new housing within a few minutes of the main campus. Our enthusiastic student unions arrange many fun and exciting leisure and sports activities.
