The nature and scope of the Information Security has evolved over the past several years. Enterprises are no longer just concerned about IT-security. Risk assessment and policy formulation, along with the definition of the business' specific security requirements are central to the information security practice.

Within the curriculum of the first year of study, important terms, such as information security, security architectures for clients and servers, robust systems, leadership and management of organizations' security, are defined. The first year ends with a project in a company or a government agency where you will meet different professional roles and study how information security functions in a real world setting. The focus of the second year of study is cutting edge research and trends in information security. Parallel to this, you can select courses geared toward security technology or security management. The second year ends with your master thesis.

Being a student in the international information security program means an active search for knowledge, problem solving, and critical analysis based on a scientific approach. The working methods vary between individual study, group work, live cases, seminars and lectures. The core courses of the program ensure that the student will gain a holistic socio-technical view of the field and the related challenges. The program provides elective courses through which the student can specialize in security management or security engineering according to available courses and interests. The program is taught in English.
