After the bachelor's degree, you can deepen your knowledge by study for an artistic master's degree.
In this programme you will deepen your knowledge and train your ability, as a performing musician, conductor or a composer, to perform music with a personal expression in a high professional level and reflect on musically artistic issues related to your future activities in the field of music.
After graduation you are qualified to apply for postgraduate (doctoral) studies in musical interpretation.
The programme comprises
two
years of
full-time study
and
is given in English
(individual
teaching may be in English
/ Swedish).
Part of the studies may take the form of distance education.
During the second academic
year an artistic
thesis
is presented in
both
musical and
written form.
As part of
the seminars, ongoing thesis works will also be presented in words and music.
Those parts of
the education that are common to
all specialisations,
are concentrated to
ca.
9 weeks
during the academic year,
called master weeks,
where
teachers
in the programme as well as guest lecturers
participate,
and in which all
students actively take part.
The teaching
during these weeks is partly divided between first-year and second-year students, partly common to all.The common seminars deal with issues related to musical creation and interpretation.
We offer

equipment for
recording and
a exceptional concert hall, Studio
Acusticum.
The department and campus Piteå we educate, besides musicians, also music teachers, dance teachers, audio engineers, TV producers, radio producers, event producers, media designers and journalist.

Special qualification:

knowledge equivalent to

Music Performance
and related fields.
Proven language proficiency in English, can for example be shown by an international English test as TOEFL or IELTS. Some specified university studies can also be equivalent.
