After the bachelor's degree, you can deepen your knowledge by study for an artistic master's degree.

In this programme you will deepen your knowledge and train your ability, as a performing musician, conductor or a composer, to perform music with a personal expression in a high professional level and reflect on musically artistic issues related to your future activities in the field of music.
After graduation you are qualified to apply for postgraduate (doctoral) studies in musical interpretation.

The programme comprises two years of full-time study and is given in English (individual teaching may be in English / Swedish). Part of the studies may take the form of distance education.

During the second academic year an artistic thesis is presented in both musical and written form. As part of the seminars, ongoing thesis works will also be presented in words and music.

Those parts of the education that  are common to all specialisations, are concentrated to ca. 9 weeks during the academic year, called  master weeks, where teachers in the programme as well as guest lecturers participate, and in which all students actively take part.

The teaching during these weeks is partly divided between first-year and second-year students, partly common to all.
The common seminars deal with issues related to musical creation and interpretation.

We offer a fine academic environment, excellent practising opportunities, extremely up to date equipment for recording and a exceptional concert hall, Studio Acusticum.

The department and campus Piteå we educate, besides musicians, also music teachers, dance teachers, audio engineers, TV producers, radio producers, event producers, media designers and journalist.
