FAQ

Do you become an architect?

No, you will not be entitled an architect, you will get a masters degree in architectural engineering. This program is not an aim to reconstruct the role of architects and form a new kind of architect. As an architectural engineer you are supposed to understand and communicate with both architects and technical consultants.

What makes the difference between studying architecture and studying this engineering program?

Architecture studies focus on your ability to find a personal artistic mark and expression, which can be used when designing physical environments. Studying to become an architect you are trained in critical thinking and a critical attitude towards the experienced environment.

When studying the engineering program in architecture, you are mainly becoming an engineer and focus is to get skilled at working in projects and communicating your results. Your professional tasks will probably be in the early stages of the building process.

In the early stages of the engineering studies most of your time will be spent on classical engineering subjects such as maths, physics, construction, environment, law and so on. About one fifth of your courses will be focused on design, planning, conceptual design etc.

What do I do after my degree?

The knowledge gained during your studies in architectural engineering is coveted at the labour market.

On top of this, an engineer is always an engineer. The engineering degree is broad and can be used in many areas.
