The program begins with a 15 ECTS profile course providing an overview of the process industry in Sweden. During the first year, the students will complete basic courses in chemistry, mathematics, physics and geology. The courses in the second and third year are applied courses in the area of study such as commodity economy, design of sustainable processing technologies and industrial technologies.
Our teaching methods create a safe learning environment and individual contact between teacher and student. Major elements of the project tasks and assignments are included in many courses. At LTU, we are eager to practice and performance in research and development will also provide added value in education. We achieve this by our professors and researchers and specialists from industry involved in teaching.
We are convinced that performance in research and development provides added value in education and therefore our classes are taught by professors, researchers and specialists directly from industry. This program teaches students how to use applied processes required for a sustainable supply of raw materials and resources. We grant a broad range of skills and the potential for future work in the production of renewable fuels, minerals, metal or paper products.
The training given in collaboration with the Swedish process industry, represented by, among other things, SSAB, LKAB, Boliden, Smurfit Kappa, SCA, and Billerud, but also with companies in other parts of Sweden or abroad.
