Degree of Master (Two Years)
This is a truly world class education in Material Science and Engineering. The over all goal of the program is to educate only the very best students to a level where they can either continue and get a PhD-degree in a very short period of time or seek prestigious employment anywhere in the world.
A single university can not fulfil the high demands to offer a true international education and instead several universities collaborate to give you the best education. You will spend at least one semester at one of the following universities: Saarbrucken (Germany), Nancy (France), and Barcelona (Spain). This will beside giving you an education in material science and engineering a culture experience and a world wide net work with students from all over the globe. During the two years of studies you will learn about most of the different aspects of material science and engineering, The courses during the first year will cover basic areas such as structure and properties of materials. The basic courses are then complemented with your choice of more specialization. Examples of such courses are Nanotechnology and Aerospace materials. You also be given the opportunity to excel in the experimental techniques used within material science. During the second year you will in a very practical manner train your skills to work as an engineer or scientist. You will be doing two major projects which are based on subprojects on on-going university research or product development in collaboration with our industrial partners. All of our industrial partners have a high degree of materials development as part of their core activities which makes your contribution very valuable.
The program will give you excellent job opportunities all over the globe when you can offer expertise in Materials Science and Engineering combined with language skills and cultural know-how from several European universities and companies.
A number of prestigious scholarships are available for students enrolled in the program. All courses are thought in English. Application form and address can be found at the programme homepage.Note that you application must be sent to Saarbrücken in Germany.
