Service for students with disabilities /problems with reading and writing

Do you have problems with reading and writing or any other disability? Do you need extra support in your studies? At the Luleå University of Technology all are welcome. Here at LTU students with disabilities can get support in order for them to experience their period of study as a secure and stimulating time.

Our goal is to give every student the opportunity to partake in their chosen studies on as equal terms as possible. Depending on your disability there are different kinds of educational support and - assistande available, all paid for by the university.  For aids regarding to your own personal needs, you should contact your municipality or your county.

In the university library there is a separate studyroom equipped for special needs. Here are computers with support programs and spaces for working in groups. The study room is furnished with ergonomically adapted furniture.

Contact the Coordinator for students with special needs, as soon as possible, if you need special assistance during your study time. You will need a documentation of your disability, such as e. g. a read- and write investigation or a doctor's certificate.

Feel free to contact the Coordinator, even if you don't have a documented disability but want more information.

The help you can get is

  • Help with taking notes
  • Recorded courseliterature
  • Hearing loop
  • Extended time for exams etc
