Strategies for managing health and daily activity: Development of dialogue support
People are expected to take increasing responsibility for their own health. It focuses on activities in everyday life and how changing activities can be used as a resource to promote health. In it, people's use of strategies to try to prevent and solve problems and deal with situations in everyday life is central to supporting health.
Efforts such as making better use of people's own resources to develop strategies for managing everyday life in a way that promotes health are urgent. There is a need to develop tools that support people to identify themselves how challenging situations in everyday life are handled via strategies and how the strategies can be changed to strengthen health. The strategies can aim to prevent, respond to and manage changes and difficulties. For example, it can be about handling new situations at work, at home or in a public environment, as well as how to handle varying daily routines, fatigue and stress. It can also be strategies to reach or maintain an active life even if conditions in life change. Based on our previous research from a number of qualitative studies, we have developed a first version of a tool in the form of a dialog support. This dialogue support called "Inventory of own strategies to occur and solve problems in activity" will describe in individual profiles how each participant occurs, deals with and tries to solve problems in everyday life. Dialogue support can form a basis for guidance where the individual's own strategies form the starting point for changing everyday life.
The purpose of the research project is to test and develop a new dialog support "Inventory of own strategies to prevent and solve problems in activity". The knowledge obtained through the research will identify areas for adaptation and improvement of the usability of the dialogue support before dissemination/wide introduction of the support can take place.
