The Department of Space Science is involved in education and research on space instruments and space instrument applications.
From the first of January 2007 the department is part of only one university, Luleå University of Technology. Our educational programs associated with Umeå University where phased out during the spring term of 2007.
Several Swedish and international study programs are offered, on master, and PhD level. At focus in our undergraduate courses are project courses on instrumentation. In these projects a synthesis of physics and electronics is formed to a flying experiment. Your project is evaluated in competition with other universities student projects. If it is found successful your project may be permitted the opportunity to fly as well on a balloon or a rocket.
