Luleå University of Technology is located quite far north in Sweden. But it is never far away.
Ten to twenty flights depart from Luleå Airport with destinations in Stockholm or Gothenburg on an average day.
You get from central Luleå to the central station in Stockholm in less that two hours, and do not have to be stuck in traffic even once. In the mornings, you might even get there quicker than if you started from one of Stockholm's suburbs.
From Lulea, you can also fly to Kiruna, Pajala, Umeå, Östersund, Sweden and Gothenburg in Sweden, or, if the longing for sun and heat gets too strong, with direct flights to more southern shores.

How do I open a Swedish bank account?
To open a bank account in Sweden, the following is required:
- Swedish personal identity number [personnummer] or co-ordination number [samordningsnummer] and
- valid passport or Swedish ID-card
Sometimes the bank can require that your bank in your home country certify your identity. Some banks also have a requirement concerning how long your residence in Sweden has been for you to be allowed to open a bank account.
