For successful proposers to Luleå University of Technology during the summer until the beginning of the semester a special duty to answer questions and can be reached in different ways. It is intended that the shelter should be able to give advice and answer questions about student life and the future education at LTU
- I will try to respond as soon as possible on everything and it is pretty much different questions you get. The more general questions usually come via chat and twitter, while those with slightly more complicated questions call us, says Anna-Karin Eriksson, who just graduated as a physiotherapist at Luleå University of Technology.
Beginning August 6, she will keep the hotline alive until the semester starts in mid-August. It is possible to reach the hotline in slightly different ways, by telephone and e-mail, of course, but also through chat and twitter. You can also call Studenttorget at LTU which, according to Anna-Karin Eriksson has 90% of the answers, but she believes at the same time, and from personal experience, that newcombers want to talk with a student.
- You would like perhaps to talk to a student and hear these personal issues about what it means to be a student in Luleå. Will I make friends? will I fit in my class? where to live? where does most students live?and so on., and that's the service that you want to give, she says.
Sometimes the questions can be just as tricky and then Anna-Karin Eriksson needs to refer to someone else at the university.
- I have an eye on where to search and I have also served on the student union so I have quite a lot of background information and I think that's good. Sometimes it comes, for example, specific questions about admissions and then you have to cross-refer, she says.
