LTU got a new permit from the Swedish National Agency for Higher Education
Luleå University of Technology also received degree condition for subject teacher education grades 7-9 in Swedish language, physics and technology. Today the Swedish National Agency for Higher Education made its final decision before the summer concerning the examination permits that has been tested in a second round.
- I am of course delighted and can only conclude that we now have a complete Teacher Education at Luleå University of Technology and can provide the region with the skills that are in demand when many teachers will retire, says Johan Sterte Vice Chancellor at Luleå University of Technology.
The decision from Swedish National Agency for Higher Education means that the recruitment for the current programs at Luleå University of Technology will not occur until the next fall. In the first trial of the programs, that LTU made supplement to in a second round, decision were not expected until October. Therefore the university chose not to advertise the approved programs to this year's fall semester.
- The great thing about it is that there is plenty of time to prepare new students for study beginning next fall, said John Sterte.
