Innovation and Design

Innovation and design is a multidisciplinary field covering different parts of the product development process. When we talk about design in the wider meaning with a life-cycle perspective. We work primarily with the early phases of this process and products are often a mix of services and hardware.

The division was formed in 2011 and consists of four research areas Entrepreneurship, Industrial Design, Product Innovation and Informatics. We are in the current situation about 50 employees and conducts research and education in close collaboration with industry.
 

App Development-the modern gold rush

Following Apple’s inroad into the mobile market in 2007, Google quickly followed suit when both companies established a platform that provided a forum for the development and distribution of mobile apps. This opened up a previously closed market to those with programming skills and who wished to develop new apps. many developers seize the oportunity, but sucess stories are limited.
