Division of Structural and Construction Engineering

The Division of Structural and Construction Engineering (SCE) covers research topics Structural Engineering, Steel Structures, Timber Structures and Construction Engineering.

The Division is gathering all of the institution building process from planning and design to construction. The department is large, about 80 people. Community and consensus in the research and education is strong and structures for management and administration are functioning properly.
 
The Division's core competency is building and construction through the use of traditional construction and building materials are concrete, steel and wood, but preferably in combination with new materials like carbon fiber, natural fibers and ice, and through use of innovative technologies. We conduct research and training in traditional areas as construction and material properties but also research in new areas such as condition assessment, repair and strengthening, industrial construction, risk and safety and informationsteknolologi in construction.informationsteknolologi in construction.

The number of employees is about 80 incl Complab.

Research centers: Lean Wood Engineering (LWE), Center for Risk Analysis and Risk Management (CRR).
