Geology Day 2011

Geology Day is actually spanning several days this year, from September 9-12. This year’s big event was the unveiling of Sweden’s and Europe’s largest meteorite which can be viewed at the House of Technology in Luleå from 9 September to 2 October. The meteorite is estimated to be about 800 000 million years old and weighs almost 1.2 tonnes. The man who found this meteorite was Thomas Österberg.
