At the division, education and research within the research subjects Energy Engineering and Electric Power Engineering are conducted.
We offer a varied range of courses covering anything from basic thermodynamic processes and electric power engineering to more advanced applications. Autumn 2011 we started a 3-year BSc program in Electric Power Engineering and in the autumn of 2009 we started the Master Program “Sustainable Energy Engineering”. Our courses are chiefly aimed at students in the Electric Power Engineering, Sustainable Energy Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Programs, but they can also be studied by other students with another suitable educational background.
Research in the subject of Energy Engineering is divided into the areas of thermochemical energy conversion, energy efficiency/process integration & systems analysis and CO2 separation/-capture & storage (CCS). In our activities we combine work at systems/components level with detailed studies of the energy conversion process.
Research in the subject of Electric Power Engineering is currently concentrated on power quality in power distribution networks and integration of renewable electricity production. This research combines theoretical and analytical models and methods with the development and use of advanced measurement technology in a laboratory environment as well as in existing installations. This combination has resulted in a significant amount of global attention for our work.
Our research at the division is often conducted in collaboration with companies and other interested parties and, perhaps most of all, together with colleagues from industry, various universities and research institutes.
We participate for example in the following centers / large research environments: Bio4Energy , f3 , HLRC , New Giron , NWI , PRISMA and SFC
