Luleå University of Technology is Internationally known for its Wood Technology Research within the fields of Wood Technology, Wood Physics and Wood Products Engineering.
Wood Technology can be summarised as the right piece of wood in the right place using new measurement technology, advanced information processing and wood communication from felling to finished product.
Wood Physics focuses on studies of physical properties of wood, especially moisture related properties and how these are affected by drying and heat treatment. Also, process technology, control systems and microwave heating and drying are included.
Wood Products Engineering includes research and development of end-user wood products in a model world where the requirements integrates with the material and production processes.
