The Department is active in a number of centers of Excellence. They are characterized by close cooperation with industries / companies and researchers involved switches in several disciplines.
Center for Automative Testing and Technology, CASTT
Through CASTT, LTU aim at primarily to support aut omative testing in winter climate in northern Sweden.
Center for High Performance Steels CHS
Activities will focus on research and technology development projects with the goal of raising the competitiveness of industry.
Faste Laboratory - a Win Excellence Centre set up by VINNOVA.
Nordic Wood Centre
The common goal for all stakeholders in Nordic Wood Centre is a Swedish timber industry, which through new / advanced products, systems and services can add value and enhance competitiveness for the benefit of both companies and society as a whole.
Currently underway is also building a Composite Center.
