
The Department of Engineering Science and Mathematics is responsible for a number of training programs, all of which provide great opportunities to get skilled jobs after graduation. Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering is one of the training programs, known as an education where students get to apply their theoretical knowledge in sharp projects. The Master Programme in Sustainable Energy is a new program where stakeholders agree that the competence in the area is of great importance for the industry. The Department of Engineering Science and Mathematics is responsible for the Swedish Research School in Tribology - with the goal to award doctoral degrees with a high level of international expertise in the field of tribology. The Department has also been involved in building the Research School of Space Technology - which gives students a unique opportunity to engage in highly attractive, modern space research.
Research at the department is characterized by qualified people that conducts advanced analytics with unique experiments and advanced simulation as a basis. Our research and education is characterized by an ongoing collaboration with businesses and industries.
The Programme Council is an important organ for contact between coordinators, teachers, students, business and society. The council will consider matters pertaining to intelligence, student recruitment, marketing, monitoring and evaluation, information, etc. related to the programme / arena. The board meets at least four times a year. At least one meeting per year involves the external representatives.
