Department of Engineering Sciences and Mathematics
Department of Engineering Sciences and Mathematics is a factually wide institution with many successful teams, recognized training program and appreciated teachers. Our research results are often presented at international conferences
We have research in areas such as wood, composites, metals, mechanics and energy. We deal with issues such as processes in gasification and combustion, or how to optimize designs for performance and production.
Among are engineering programs are Sustainable Energy Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. We have an international program in Materials Engineering and among our newer programs are Bachelor of Science in Power Engineering. The good cooperation with the industry provides students an opportunity to work with sharp project tasks in their education.
The department has about 300 employees and conducts research in 20 research subjects and seven centers of excellence. You can find us in the E-building on the campus in Luleå and at LTU in Skellefteå. We are also responsible for the research at LTU Green Fuels in Piteå.
