ALICE - Attractive Living in Cold Climate

As the project New Giron ended, Professor Maria Viklander, Sanitary Engineering, was granted 25 million SEK for continued research on Malmfältens new cities.

Moving the cities Kiruna and Malmberget/Gellivare are unique urban transformations that is also an exciting challenge to build smarter, better and more attractive communities. Knowledge from the Project New Giron will be preserved and developed further. It is among others on urban planning, water and sewer issues, infrastructure for travelers and constructions and buildnings for extreme climatic conditions.

It is the Research Council Formas, which funds the research conducted in close collaboration with stakeholders from industry.
