“How can new ICT services improve life and working conditions in remote rural areas?”
Today, new technologies are evolving which build on dynamic and mobile structures rather than the fixed infrastructures that have hitherto been required access useful services. Among these technologies we find high speed wireless networks, DelayTolerantNetworking, Peer-to-Peer networking, digitalization of mobile phone systems and possibly new satellite systems.
An easy recurring way for individuals to take active part.
The SMART project explores the concept of "reaction media", allowing individuals to easily and directly take active part in situations like public dialogues and industrial quality processes.
The idea is to make physical "SMART objects" available to be reacted upon by individuals, and to mark those objects with an easily recognizable symbol.
Co-creating Living Labs for CWE
CoreLabs will coordinate the human-centric research, development and innovation processes ("Living Labs") in a MEUR 40 project portfolio, with objective to initiate a European Network of Living Labs".
It is expected that products and services being development in Living Lab environments will better meet true needs, instrument faster and wider market adoption and the developed products and services will have better business opportunities.A study on Collaborative Work: Productivity, Creativity and Innovation Impacts and Implications
The research will analyze emerging new working structures, focusing on economic and organisational impact of diversity in collaborative innovation process. While innovation has been a hot topic for some time, little research has gone towards explaining the role of diversity – be it cultural, discipline related or other kinds -- in the innovation process. This study will look at the issues on a global scale, and bring the findings and the insights to the best practices to the European context. The aim is to yield practical results and recommendations, applicable in organisations seeking to increase their rate of successful innovationEntrepreneurial Knowledge Community
