Biorefinery
Biorefining is the development of cost effective, integrated processes for the use of biobased materials in the production of chemicals and fuels. Current research is aimed at improvement of thermochemical and biochemical processes with an emphasis on the forest products industry. Specific projects include development of pretreatment processes for biomass, fermentations, and separations.
