Produktion Botnia is one of EU's structural fund projects, and the purpose of the project is to study and strengthen the possibilities för industrial production in the county of Norrbotten.
The aim of the project is to, jointly with the industry, develop strategies, methods and tools to increase the performace of continuous industrial processes. In 2008, three SMEs in Piteå started a collaboration where they hired an improvement leader to speed up their improvement work.
The project aims to study the possibilities to use RFID to improve traceability in granular flows. The researchers in the project are Bjarne Bergquist and Erik Vanhatalo. Björn Kvarnström defended his PhD thesis on results from the project.
