We provide spring 2013 an EWF course in Laser Welding. This course is for welding engineers, designers, production engineers, development engineers, and educators who want to gain knowledge of laser welding technologies for rational and efficient assembly. It is also suitable for those who work in job-shops, or companies that have or are thinking of using laser welding in production.
Now we are looking for two curious and passionate people who want to work in our laser research as a graduate student. The workarea is laser cutting and laser welding.
Swedish engineering industry will be more competitive by using new technologies such as laser welding, new IT solutions and new ways of working. Various successful opportunities to strengthen the manufacturing industry is developed and is now being tested out of 20 Swedish and Finnish engineering company in collaboration with researchers from the LTU and University of Oulu.

In June, Ingemar Eriksson presented his Licentiate thesis. The title "Optical Monitoring and Analysis of Laser Welding" reveals that the research involves optical monitoring and analysis of laser welding. The common thread has been the use of high speed speed cameras to investigate how the laser welding process works in reality.
