New Ph.D. at the division

On Friday December 10th Sofie Högberg defended her thesis "Modeling Nanofiber Transport and Deposition in Human Airways". Faculty opponent was Prof. Geoff Gibson, Newcastle University, UK.

The aim of the thesis was mainly to examine health risks associated with inhalation of nanofibers. Mathematical models and simulations are used to study the motion and subsequent deposition of small fibrous particles in human airways.
