Acoustics and Vibrations
Engineering acoustics at LTU has extensive resources for experimental research and teaching. Among other the following resources can be mentioned:
- Anechoic room for sound power and directive measurements, listening tests and sound quality tests.
- Semi-anechoic vehicle laboratory for sound and vibration studies on cars, truck cabins etc.
- Building acoustic laboratory for floors and walls.
- Sound design lab for sound quality research, listening tests and sound recordings.
- Motion simulator for motions and vibrations in 6 axles with a load up to 1000 kg.
- Extensive measurement equipment for recording and analysis of sound and vibration.
The group also cooperates with other research groups at LTU and has therefore indirect access to qualified laboratories for optical measurements, tribology/friction studies, cold studies and fluid mechanics.
