Official language
The official language of the seminar is ENGLISH. A full-length paper is required for each presentation (either oral presentation or a poster), to be published in the Proceedings. For adequate preparation, please refer to the Instructions to Authors and Paper Preparation Guide Sheets. Final camera-ready form (on paper and by E-mail) must reach the Seminar Administrators Office before March 31st, 2011
PLEASE NOTE!
When submitting final papers: please add a presentation with Title, Organization and a short description (2-3 sentences) of your background to be used by session chairman as an introduction of speaker.
Oral Presentations
Each author will be allowed 20 minutes for his/her oral presentation (we encourage contributors to complete their presentations in 15 minutes, in order to allow 5 minutes for questions and answers after the presentation). It is expected that all presentations will be presented using Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 software with a common computer provided by the seminar organizers. An overhead projector will be available by special request.
Poster Presentations
There will be one poster session on Wednesday afternoon, June 8th. Set-up of posters will take place during Tuesday afternoon – Wednesday morning.
Display Panels
Each poster layout will be mounted on free standing display panel (supplied). The size of the poster may not exceed 1200 mm height x 1000 mm width.
General Appearance
The display material can be either a number of separate units or a single sheet. Your fully completed poster presentation should be carried with you and not sent in advance or prepared at the seminar site. Poster presentations normally include an abstract, captions and headlines, charts, tables, diagrams showing results and conclusions. Also include your contact data (name, institute, address, phone, fax, E-mail). Posters cannot be printed at the seminar site.
Pictures and Graphs
As a general guide, all pictures, graphs or charts should be at least 200mm x 250mm in size. Present one idea per picture (graph) and include only supporting information.
Lettering
All poster lettering should be typewritten. Since your poster has to be read at distance of a couple of meters, use appropriate size lettering.
1) General Information
Papers in final camera-ready form must reach the Seminar Administrators Office before March 30th, 2011. Papers received after this date cannot be included in the proceedings. Authors are responsible for the reviewing and editing of their paper.
Authors who have English as a second language are requested to have their manuscript reviewed by a professional editor before submission for publication in the seminar proceedings.
To maintain the professional appearance of the seminar proceedings, it is important that all papers have a consistent typographical style. Please carefully follow the format specified below and do not “personalize” the layout.
Papers should not exceed 8 pages, including tables and figures.
Abstracts for peer-review
Abstract of papers and posters not exceeding 300 words must be received in Seminar Administrators Office by 31 October, 2010.
Please send your abstract by email to: info@iwms20.se
A confirmation email will be sent to acknowledge receipt of the abstract. If no confirmation is received after one week, then write again to ask further instructions.
Abstracts will be peer-reviewed and a response will be sent by email before December 31, 2010.
Final papers
Papers should be formatted to A4 size paper (210 x 297 mm) using Microsoft Word 2003 or compatible software. The required format is described below. After completion, each paper should be converted into .pdf format and the resulting file checked for correct formatting and page placement. Final papers must be received in Seminar Administrators Office by March 31st, 2011.
Final papers in both .doc and .pdf formats should be sent by email to: info@iwms20.se
A confirmation email will be sent to acknowledge receipt of the manuscript. If no confirmation is received after one week, then write again to ask further instructions.
2) Format for Papers
Papers should be formatted to A4 paper (210mm × 297mm) with 25 mm margins at top and bottom, and 22 mm at each side. Do not insert page numbers; these will be added when your manuscript is assembled into the seminar proceedings.
The standard font style for the main text is Times New Roman 12 pt, single spaced and justified, with variations used for titles and headings as specified below. Paragraphs are separated by single blank lines, but are not indented.
TITLE
The title of the paper should be centred at the top of the first page in Times New Roman 18pt bold, single-spaced and with Initial Capital Letters. The title should be short and descriptive, and preferably not exceed 12 words.
AUTHORS
Author information should be placed one 12pt line space following the title. Each author’s name (family name first) should appear in 14pt font, with the affiliation and address on the following line in 12pt font. Names of multiple authors can be grouped according to affiliation. If needed, superscript numerals can be used to indicate individual affiliations. Email addresses may be included if desired, and, if appropriate, a notation of the “author for correspondence”.
ABSTRACT
An abstract not exceeding 300 words should follow two 12pt line spaces after the author list. It should briefly summarize the contents of the paper without references to other literature. Unlike the following sections, its title is centred.
MAIN SECTIONS
The main sections of the paper, e.g. Introduction, Theory, Experiments, Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgments, References, commence after the abstract. Their headings appear in 14pt bold CAPITAL LETTERS, aligned at the left margin. Main sections are separated by two 12pt line spacings. If needed, sub-sections with headings in 12pt bold, Initial Capital Letters can be used, aligned at the left margin, and separated by one 12pt line spacing.
FIGURES
Line drawings, graphs and photographs are all described as “figures”, and should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals in the order to which they are referred in the text. Captions should be located centred below the figure in bold font.
The paper version of the seminar proceedings will be printed in black and white, so care must be taken to ensure that any figures containing distinctive coloured features will remain understandable when rendered in monochrome. The electronic version of the seminar proceedings will retain the original colour rendering.
Line diagrams and graphs are often reduced in size when placed in papers. Care must be taken to ensure that the size of fonts and thickness of lines are sufficiently large to remain clearly legible when put in place. Note that the default font and line thickness sizes in many word processing and graphics programs are too small. Larger sizes must be chosen.
TABLES
Tables must be numbered (in Arabic numerals) in the order in which they are referred to in the text. Each table should have a caption centred at the top in bold font.
REFERENCES
References should be numbered within the text in the order cited. The reference numbers appear in [brackets] within the text. All literature references should be listed at the end of the paper in numerical order and formatted according to the following examples.
