Sanitary Engineering

Research in water and wastewater treatment focuses on knowledge building around water and sewer with starting points in sustainability and wise use of resources.

Quantity and quality issues relating to day-and melt water, wastewater and drinking water in various stages of processing penetrated.

Nutrition Circulation and issues related to thermal effects of water and wastewater systems are essential, as are applicants in the community for other applications of the constructed subject knowledge.

Our research interest are urban water systems - quality,
treatment, transport and management. Our vision is to support the
development of a sustainable urban water management system with
our research outcomes. Our main focuses are:

  • Snow and stormwater quality and treatment
  • Adaptation of urban water systems to climate change
  • Transport system
  • Waste water treatment in small scale facilities

The research group is led by Prof. Maria Viklander.
