Railtraffic with lubricated tracks
In a new interdisciplinary research project at Luleå University of Technology positive effects of lubricating the rails is tested. The research will continue for two years and is conducted in cooperation with, among others, Swedish Transport Authority "Trafikverket" and LKAB. It is expected to reduce costs by reducing friction and wear on the tracks and wheels, as well as to reduce the noise from the trains rampage.
