After receiveing my M.Sc. degree in computer science and computer engineering from Royal Institute of Technology, I spent over 10 years in the IT services industry working as a system developer, system designer, project manager and business manager.

In 2005, I decided to return to academia and started teaching at Luleå University of Technology in various programming and web technology courses. Since July 2006 I am a PhD student in mobile systems at the department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. In October 2008 I presented my licentiate thesis "On Access Network Selection Models in Heterogeneous Networking Environments".

My research is performed within the framework of the HybriNet@Skellefteå project supported by Skellefteå Kraft. My main supervisor is Christer Åhlund, associate professor and manager of the Mobile Networking and Computing division at LTU Skellefteå while my co-supervisor is Arkady Zaslavsky, chaired professor in media technology.

During July-August 2009 and January 2010 I was invited to work at the Internet Real-Time Laboratory at Columbia University, New York, USA headed by Professor Henning Schulzrinne.

My research subject is multimedia distribution in heterogeneous networking environments and my research interests cover the following areas:

• Quality of Service (QoS) provisioning
