Kåre Synnes, PhD

I am born on the 25th of january 1969 in Sollefteå, a small town in the heart of Sweden. Actually, I lived the first 7 years of my life with my family in a small village, Österforse, 25 km outside Sollefteå (a place most known for it's excellent golf course).

I have a 2 year younger brother, Leiv, that lives in Stockholm with his girlfriend, Ulrika Enlund. They both work at Handelsbanken, when they are not busy swinging away golfballs or sporting.

My parents, Olav and Ruth, still live in Sollefteå. They are both retired, where Olav worked at Graninge Energi and Ruth at Sollefteå hospital. Their current occupation could closest be described as travellers, since they are hardly at home nowadays. During summer the probability is highest to find them at our familys resort, the summer cabins at Saltsjön.

What about me then? Well, Books, preferable english fantasy or thrillers, is something I gladly would spend a quiet evening with. Offcourse, science fiction in most forms is interesting too. I am an addicted Star Trek watcher and PC adventure gamer. The motion picture type of storytelling is another of my great addictions, where a dream of mine is to someday have my own movie room at home.

I like to sport, even if I do it all too seldom, but I especially like to play squash, tennis, badminton or floor hockey. I also try to work out as often as possible...well, I will do better. Since I used to compete in swimming (I competed for SASS - Solleftaå Allmäna Simsällskap - until I was 18 years old), watersports is something I really like. Diving, windsurfing, you name it. I have also caught the golf flue...

Food and company is something I like to enjoy together. A nice meal with my friends is something I appreciate very much, especially if whiskey is served afterwards. And if the brand is McAllan...joy!
