Luleå University of Technology is the only Swedish university that participates in a new large project on autonomous carbon neutral sustainable mining. In EU-funded NEXGEN SIMS, technology, methods and processes that will enable a more sustainable and efficient carbon neutral mining operation will be developed.
At a retirement home in Övertorneå, Luleå University of Technology has opened Sweden's northernmost test bed for 5G. The purpose of the test environment is to facilitate the use of new technology in the care and nursing area. The first two innovations to be tested is a video conferencing system and a robot for digital home care.
Norrbotten is growing fast. By 2030, the region needs to employ 51,000 people. Anna Näppä, a doctoral student in Industrial Marketing, has participated in a project owned by Luleå Business Region, whose purpose is to help companies attract the right kind of skills by developing their so-called employer brand.
