LWE Research areas

Published: 14 March 2011

The LWE R&D matrix defines the core areas of research and indicates their priority.

LWE addresses industrial and academic challenges in three value chains (green columns in the R&D matrix) by performing multidisciplinary company initiated projects within the research areas (blue rows):

  • Industrialised timber construction
  • Wood manufacturing
  • Interior solutions

Our ambition is to integrate the value chain dimension and the product, process and business dimension to avoid the split into sub-programs working in separate tracks.

About 80% of the reasearch focus on industrialised timber frame housing, 15% on industrial wood components, products and systems, and 5% on furniture and interior solutions.
