iBETTER is a program designed to improve collaboration between researchers at the SKF-LTU UTC and SKF. The program received funding for this research exchange between LTU, SKF European Research Centre (ERC), the Netherlands, and SKF Condition Monitoring Centre, Scotland.

The funding comes from the EU -FP7 and is a Marie Curie initiative in Academia Partnerships and Pathways (IAPP). The Research exchange means that all researchers in SKF-LTU UTC have the possibility to longer stays at SKF's centers in the Netherlands and Scotland, and researchers from these centers also have the opportunity to spend time in the research environment at SKF-LTU UTC.

iBETTER also includes exchange between Imperial College and SKF ERC in the Netherlands. This also allows a research collaboration between LTU and Imperial college because scientists can cooperate during their stays at ERC , and that all projects within iBETTER are coupled to solve more complex  research questions related to technology for developing smart bearings.
