Instance lab has been established since 2018, as part of the Master program in Information Security with great success and recognition. The Lab has since evolved into a more dynamic platform that can serve not only education within Information Security, but a platform with an adaptable application layer for creating the possibility to change application domains feasible for specific need for any firm, organization or scenario at any given time.
Elpidoforos Arapantonis has recently graduated from the Information Security Master Programme. He works at Volvo Cars Corporation in Göteborg as a Solution Architect at the Active Safety Department.
During this event we will stress that cybersecurity and awareness, does not necessarily have to be costly for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to implement and maintain. The event is open and free for everyone who registers. The focus will be on SMEs.
CyberNorth 2021 was organized as an online event on September 28. Among the 60 participants were representatives from authorities, companies and IT consultants. CyberNorth offered an interesting morning with speakers who gave us new insights and better knowledge about cyber security. This year, the event focused on the challenges of connecting information technology and operational technology. CyberNorth was arranged this year in collaboration with the Interreg Nord project Cynic, Vinnova and PiiA-Processindustriell IT och Automation through the project UNDIS.
We are increasingly hearing news that reminds us of how vulnerable our digital society is. Most recently, a major crash in the Norrbotten Region's IT system caused major problems for all hospitals and health centers. The local press reported that booked visits were canceled. Martin Lundgren, researcher and responsible for the information systems program, was interviewed as an expert in information security.
Centre for Critical Infrastructure and Societal Security, CiSS, has become member of Cybernode: the Swedish research and innovation node for cyber security. – Being able to be part of setting the agenda for Swedish investments in cyber security will be a great asset for CiSS, says Martin Lundgren, Senior Lecturer in Information Systems.
Luleå University of Technology reached the semifinals in the Cyber Challenge, a competition arranged by the Swedish Defense University. The competing students from the Master Programme in Information Security, had to solve fictitious scenarios from a cybersecurity perspective.
