Funding: This project is part of the project TräCentrum North in 2014 with funding from the County Administrative Board of Norrbotten, Västerbotten Region, Skellefteå, Piteå, Luleå University of Technology and TCNs industrial partners .


In the current project the focus is on acoustic develop Marti's building concept with supporting frame in solid wood. As the market increasingly have begun to pursue sound isolation at a level that is above the minimum requirements (corresponding sound class Class C) increases competitiveness with a design that meets sound class B. Martinson construction has on previous noise measurements proved balancing on the border between sound class B and C regarding air and impact sound insulation. In order to fully be able to sell the concept of higher sound classification, it is necessary to improve the acoustic performance to sound class B can be guaranteed. To achieve this, it is necessary to have a certain margin of safety if someone / some dB relative to current levels then some variation in the field, in the completed building, is always present.

A further step in the development of massivträtekniken is to adapt this to be a viable alternative to the really tall building connects. With current technology cleared up to about 8 floors while the vision - and the goal in the long term - is to allow buildings of approximately 20 stories. Such a scenario requires rethinking of the structural design where it is important to integrate the acoustic aspect to ensure good sound insulation.



The project aims to:
a) From the new / improved technologies to develop the system for better sound performance - sound class B - with the required margin.
b) Obtain an initial idea to the acoustic design paydays suited for tall buildings - for future projects.
