Area: Durability of wood
Budget: 175 000 SEK
Duration: May 2011-December 2013
Project Manager: Karin Sandberg, SP Wood
During inspections of outdoor constructions of wood there is a need to assess the condition and damage and provide instructions for action. I.e for wooden facades there is a desire to be able to give guarantees, to determine the extent of the guarantee and how assessments should be done in case of shortcomings and errors.
For warranty and disputes, it is important to get an objective assessment of condition and damage. The vision is that inspectors should be able to refer to the inspection instructions, and use them to find major damage and make the same assessment of the condition. Inspection manuals ties together past and current work in TCN projects, the handbook series describes how structures should be performed, the guides described requirements, inspection manuals to the expected long-term performance and assessment criteria described.
Purpose, objectives and boundaries
The project is a study of existing inspection instructions and contacts with surveyors and organizations, to create a basis for the development of inspection manuals for wooden structures.
