Aims and objectives

Agenda is to enhance the efficiency and global competitiveness of the Swedish wood industry and its suppliers of equipment, products and services which will contribute to increased exports of environmentally sustainable products with high knowledge content. The renewal of the timber industry will be achieved through cross-industry collaboration and systematic use of new technologies in measurement technology, information and communication technology, and materials engineering. Agenda strategy is to re-connect information from market demand for finished products back to the forest.

Impact and results

The steps proposed agenda helps to renew the Swedish wood industry to increase efficiency and global competitiveness. Interaction with new players and skills from other areas of expertise and industries contribute to increased technology. Increased flow of information relating to existing and new data helps manufacturers of forestry machinery, machinery for sawmills and woodworking, scanning equipment, etc have access to data that can contribute to the efficiency of processes, equipment and timber chain big challenge 'right piece in the right place'
