The Research Council is a strategic advisory body for KB in research-related issues and acts as a link between KB and the research community. The Council assists KB with an analysis of the surrounding world to ensure that research support activities and collections meet the current and future needs of the research community.
The Research Council consists of 10 – 15 external members. The chairman and members of the council are appointed for a term of three years by the national librarian on a proposal from the research council secretary. The chairman and members must have experience of research and / or research infrastructure and represent a broad academic base with subject, principal and geographical spread.
